Welcome to the 2023 Southeast Conference & Love Mercy Do Justice (ECC)’s Justice Conference! The justice confefence is a hybrid conversation being held in Atlanta, GA and online Friday evening, July 28th through Saturday afternoon, July 29th, 2023. We are so excited about this year’s them: Embodying Justice Through a Faith-Rooted Lens of Political Engagement.


Our Speakers

Christin Thorpe:

Christin Thorpe is a community-oriented faith leader who serves as President of the Witness Foundation, in Hampton Roads, Virginia. She is also a generosity strategist with Generis, an organization that supports churches and non-profits in accelerating generosity to fund their God-inspired mission.

Christin is an alumna of Hampton University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Community and Social Services. She also holds a master’s in social work with a concentration in community organizing and social administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Christin is currently a Harold Hudson Scholar at United Theological Seminary pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree with a focus on building bridges for church and community wholeness.

Shane Claiborne:

Shane Claiborne is a prominent speaker, activist, and best-selling author. He worked with Mother Teresa in Calcutta, and founded The Simple Way in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shane is president of ‘Red Letter Christians’, a movement of folks who are committed to living “as if Jesus meant the things he said.’ Shane is a champion for grace which has led him to jail advocating for the homeless, and to places like Iraq and Afghanistan to stand against war. Now grace fuels his passion to send the death penalty and help stop gun violence.

Shane’s books include Jesus for President, Red Letter Revolution, Common Prayer, Follow Me to Freedom, Jesus, Bombs, and Ice Cream, Becoming the Answer to Our Prayers, Executing Grace, his classic The Irresistible Revolution, Beating Guns, and his newest book, Rethinking Life.

Shane has been featured in a number of films and his books have been translated in more than a dozen languages. Shane speaks nationally and internationally, and his work has appeared in Esquire, SPIN, Christianity Today, TIME, and The Wall Street Journal. Shane has appeared on everything from FOX News, Al Jazeera, CNN and NPR. He has given lectures at Harvard, Princeton, Liberty, Duke, and Notre Dame.

Frank Robinson:

Frank Robinson serves as vice president of Econsult Solutions, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He holds an Mdiv from Westminster Theological Seminary and an MBA from Eastern University. Mr. Robinson serves as board president for Family Promise of Philadelphia and Land Economic Society (LAI Philly). He also sits on the boards of the Community Design Collaborative, the Black Writers Museum and the Advisory Board of Live Work Philadelphia. Frank holds certifications in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Management and Development and another one in Faith-based Initiatives. Mr. Robinson is a member of Christian Community Development Association and an alumni of their CCDA Leadership Cohort 6.
